People and villages

Dotted around the landscape of the mountains of West Timor are a multitude of smaller and larger settlements and villages. In many of these places there are houses built in traditional style with tree leaves roofs, which are still being used by the local population. The people who live here are of dark skin, many of them of the Melanesian race. Most are Christian and on Sundays go to church.
