Al Jahili fort

The Al Jahili fort is one of the larger and better preserved forts in the Abu Dhabi emirate. Built in 1898 by Sheikh Zayed I it has been restored recently, because the walls and structures are in a very perfect state. Inside the fort (free entrance) there is a visitor information centre and a museum about the past of Al Ain. The Al Jahili fort is in the centre of Al Ain, not far from the oasis and the other historic sights.
