Mt Popa, an extinct volcano which rises to 1518 m, is the most magical of Burmese mountains and has been a pilgrimage site for at least 700 years. The pictures you see below were taken (probably) on Toung Kalat, a comparatively modest volcanic plug well covered with temples and shrines.
