The Gasteig is a cultural centre in Munich set up in 1985, home to the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and a large library and study rooms. Next to it is the Müller Volksbad, a public bath where in a large neo-baroque building (opened in 1901) there is an indoor swimming pool.
