Kunming, the capital of the Chinese province of Yunnan, is a pleasant town lying at an altitude of 1890m. Due to its location it has a pleasant climate all year round, with mild winters and fresh summers. The town dates back to 2000 years ago. The city walls were built in the 14th century, during the Ming dinasty. Nowadays Kunming is a boom town and the centre of the Yunnan economy.
