Zhongdian

Photos of the Ganden Sumtseling Gompa Tibetan Buddhist temple and the old town of Zhongdian. Zhongdian, which the local Tibetans call Gyeltang or Gyalthang, lies at 3200m above the sea level in a large valley. Here a Tibetan minority lives.
This gallery contains no photos of modern Zhongdian, as the modern town is a simply a "boom town" mix of modern buildings and shopping complexes.
