Poipet to Siem Reap in the rainy season

Some pictures of the minibus trip from Poipet to Siem Reap which we did in early September 2000, at the height of the rainy season. The Cambodian border checkpoint in Poipet was undergoing a major overhaul by then. Road conditions in Cambodia, between Poipet and Siem Reap were very bad. The road consisted of (wet) mud, with holes everywhere. Some craters were big enough to swallow a truck. It took us a few hours to reach the Thai border town of Aranya Prathet, then 9 hours to make it from the border to Siem Reap.
