The Mu Koh Chang Marine National Park was established in December 1982. It lies off Thailand's east coast about 600 kilometres from Bangkok in the Gulf of Thailand and consists of about 50 islands, of which Koh Chang, Koh Wai, Koh Mak and Koh Kut are the largest ones. These islands are receiving a growing number of foreign tourists, who are attracted by the pristine and not yet heavily commercialised beaches.
