The monumental cathedral of Toledo was built in High Gothic style between 1226 and 1493 on the site of a former 7th century church. Due to the long construction period different parts of the cathedral are built in variations of the Gothic style: the exterior in early French Gothic style, the interior in late Spanish Gothic style.
