San Lorenzo del El Escorial

San Lorenzo de El Escorial is a small town 45km northwest of Madrid at the foot of the Sierra de Guadarrama at about 1000m above sea level. The town is unremarkable, but attracts a lot of visitors due to the proximity to the Escorial royal palace and monastery. Due to the large number of tourists visiting it, the town has a large number of restaurants.
