Ottadalen is a side valley of the Gudbrand valley in southern Norway. It's the first valley which the road starting in Geiranger and crossing the coastal mountain range reaches. The valley is pleasant, but not very scenic. The main reason to come here is to visit the stave (=wooden) church in Lom. This is a triple nave stave which was originally built in the 12th century, and later rebuilt in the 17th century. The church was completely restored in 1933 and is open for visitors. It is surrounded by a cemetery.
