Pinang hill lies a few km southwest of Georgetown. It is 821m high and offers good views of Pinang island and the strait of Pinang. Tourists get to the top of Pinang hill either by walking or by taking the funicular railway which in less than 10 minutes reaches the top. On top of the hill there are a few attractions such as a Hindu temple, a small zoo and some restaurants.
