These are some photos taken
during a recent trip to the Bako national park.
At the time of visiting, only the western part of the park (Lintang trail and the Pandan beaches) were open for visitors. The trail climbs up from the park headquarter to the sandstone plateau. On the plateau there is often not enough tree cover to protect against the sun.
The trail sections leading up to the plateau are quite steep in some areas and contain unstable wooden ladders.
The wildlife images were taken during an evening photo walk near the park headquarter.
How to get to the Bako national park
The only way to get to the Bako NP is via ferry from the jetty at the Bako village. A full boat (capable of carrying 5 visitors) costs RM 200.
Accommodation
There is accomodation in the park (stone bungalows with fan), but this needs to be booked in advance via the Bako NP website.
