Malaysia is a very mountainous country with several peaks above 2000m and even a 4100m peak in Borneo. Peninsular Malaysia is crossed by a central mountain range whose origins lie in the Himalaya. Several hill stations in these mountains provide relief from the tropical heat of the lowlands. At 4100m Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, a popular tourist spot, is the highest peak in South East Asia. This photo gallery contains pictures of Mt Kinabalu in Sabah, of the Cameron Highlands in peninsular Malaysia and of the Kelabit Highlands (Bario) in Sarawak.
