Central Amman

The part of Amman to the west of the Roman theatre is the more modern and prosperous one. Around Rainbow street there are several elegant cafes, shops and restaurants. The Hussein mosque was rebuilt in 1924 with an Ottoman design. Around it are several souqs, including a gold souq.
