Some miscellaneous photos of Siracusa. The Santuario della Madonna delle Lacrime (Sanctuary of Mother Mary of the Tears in English) is a modern church with an unual lotus blossom shape. It was built between 1966 and 1994, following a miracle happened in 1956 (a statue of Mother Mary emitting tears). Photos 5-8 are some examples of the delicious pastries available in Siracusa.
