Kurdistan

The Kurdistan province of Iran lies in western Iran at the border to Iraq. It's an area of high plains and mountains, often at altitudes above 2000m, which gets snowfall in winter. The Iranian province of Kurdistan has an area of 28817 km² and has a population of 1.5 million inhabitants, of which the majority are Kurdish.
