Wawarungu is a small village along Sumba's northern coast, in the Mamboro area. It consists of two rows of houses all built with traditional materials around a common square. There are not so many megalithic stone structures in the central square, but the village overall is quite scenic. It lies in a dry, savannah-like area. Wawarungu lies about one hour by car east of Tambolaka.
