Tengger caldera at sunrise

Some photos of the Bromo Tengger caldera taken from the Mt Penanjakan (2770m) viewpoint at dawn. The caldera is 9x10km large and consists of a sea of black volcanic sand containing three volcanic cones: Mt Bromo, Mt Batok and Mt Kursi. The volcano in the background is Mt Semeru (3776m), a still active volcano which erupts every 20 minutes.
