The Vidhana Soudha building is the seat of the state legislature of Karnataka. It is located in central Bangalore not far from MG road and Cubbon park. Completed in 1956, it is built in granite and incorporates elements of Indo-Saracenic, Rajasthani Jharokha and Dravidian styles. It has a total area of 50000 sqm. Next to Vidhana Soudha lies the Vikasa Soudha building which was erected to house numerous government and legislative offices for which there was not sufficient space in Vidhana Soudha. Opposite Vidhana Soudha lies the red brick building of the Karnataka High Court, which is also known as Attara Kacheri.
