The Charlottenburg palace (Schloss Charlottenburg in German) is the largest palace in Berlin and a former royal residence of the Hohenzollern family. It was built in the Charlottenburg district of the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf borough at the end of the 17th century and expanded in the 18th century. The complex consists of the palace and an adjacent 55 hectares garden with ponds, meadows and trees.
