These are some photos of the historic centre of Strasbourg on the Grande Ile, which has been declared a UNESCO World heritage site in 1988. Here are several well-preserved buildings from medioeval times, for instance many characteristic half-timbered houses. The Strasbourg Cathedral is a Roman Catholic built in Gothic architecture style between 1176 and 1439. The historic centre is full of cafes and restaurants and attracts a large number of tourists every year.
