Louvre

The Louvre museum is a very important and well known museum located in Paris on the right bank of the Seine river. It houses almost 35000 artifacts dating from the 6th millennium BC to the 19th century AD in over 60000 sqm of exposition space. The museum os located inside the Louvre palace, whose construction was started in the 12th century and went on continously over the centuries. The most recent addition to the Louvre complex is the glass pyramid built on the Carrousel square.
