The Atlantic coast of France extends for about 700km from north to south. It's a mostly plain coast, with beaches bay and a number of large rivers flowing into the sea. In the south lie the French regions of Poitou and Aquitaine, while the Pays de la Loire and Bretagne regions lie to the north.
