The Helsinki airport is the main international airport of the Helsinki metropolitan region and the whole of Finland. It served 13426901 passengers in 2008 and it is the fourth largest airport in the Nordic countries. With almost 300 shops and restaurants the Itis Shopping Centre (until 2012 known as Itäkeskus) is largest shopping centre in the Nordic countries. It is located a few km east of the centre of Helsinki. The ferries to Travemünde (Germany) depart from the Vuosaari harbour about 12km northest of Helsinki.
