Tjuvholmen is a peninsula extending into the Oslo fjord from Aker Brygge, in the west of Oslo. In the past the area was used for office space, terminals and warehouses. In 2005 it was sold to private investors who developed the area into a residential part with private apartments and a public area with museums of which the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art is the most significant one. There is also a bathing area where young people meet in the summer.
